Sept 2022

I’m presenting at the ASAP/13 conference, Sept 15th at UCLA. My talk, co-presented with Jules Gill-Peterson, is entitled “Cracking Eggs: Living on the Edge of Trans Theory” and explores the phenomenology of the “egg” (a community term for a trans person who doesn’t yet know they are trans) through our personal histories, individually and as friends and colleagues.

My article “Trans/Locatability: Gender Positioning Systems and Locative Performance” will appear in an upcoming special issue of Media-N on “Trans New Media Art as Embodied Practice.” Details to come!

The zine for STREET SEEN, my collaboration with coveillance and artist Maggie Oates, is publicly available! Last summer we led a community walking tour of Nova Place, a tech hub on Pittsburgh’s northside, to talk and move through the relationship between surveillance, digital infrastructures, and gentrification. The zine gathers some of our research and group exercises to document the project and hopefully prompt folks to learn more about what’s happening in your own cities. Zine is viewable/downloadable here!
